Timecard Intelligence is an AI-powered analysis tool that helps production accountants and payroll approvers identify anomalies, outliers, and irregularities in submitted timecards before final approval. This article explains how to access Timecard Intelligence, run the four available analyses, and interpret results to address potential payroll issues before batching.
Step 1: Under Payroll, click Timecards to open the Timecards module.
Step 2: In the Timecards grid toolbar, click Timecard Intelligence.
Note: The Timecard Intelligence button appears only when the feature has been enabled for your project. If the button is not visible, contact your GreenSlate Account Manager.
Step 3: A new tab opens, and Timecard Intelligence begins analyzing timecards for the most recent week-ending date. It automatically retrieves one month of prior timecards for historical comparison, or up to 1,500 timecards, whichever limit is reached first.
Note: Analysis is scoped to the current project only. Timecards from other projects are not included.
Step 4: Use the date drop-down at the top to change the week-ending date of the analyzed timecards. Use the division drop-down to filter the timecards for a specific division. Then click Re-analyze to update the results.
Step 5: Once Timecard Intelligence has loaded, select one of the four pre-configured analysis options:
Overtime Outlier Detection: Identifies employees with significantly more overtime hours than the rest of the project.
Total Hours Outlier Detection: Identifies employees who worked significantly more total hours than others during the current period.
Week-Over-Week Variance: Identifies employees whose hours differ notably from the prior week.
Missing Timecards This Week: Identifies which employees submitted a timecard last week but did not submit one in the current week.
Step 6: Review the results displayed in the analysis panel. Findings are organized by severity level: Critical, High, Medium, and Low.
Step 7: Click an employee name or timecard identifier within the results to open the corresponding timecard detail view. The detail view opens in a new tab, so your analysis results remain accessible.
Interpreting Results
Each finding in the Timecard Intelligence results includes:
The employee name and timecard identifier
A description of the detected anomaly
The assigned severity level (Critical, High, Medium, or Low)
A recommended action for investigation
Warning: AI-generated findings are analytical guidance, not definitive determinations. Always verify flagged timecards against your production records before taking corrective action.
