Audit reports are designed to help you review 1099 coding and vendor information for completeness. These reports can be generated for individual projects or on a cross-project company basis.
We’ll use the All Paid Transactions with 1099 Filter as the example audit report. This report sorts by vendor code and groups all paid transactions for a vendor for the selected date range, regardless of 1099 tagging and amount. You can compare the vendor name, tax entity type, tax ID number, and address against the vendor provided W-9. You can also review all vendor detail lines to confirm the 1099 tagging.
