How to: Run an Accounting Report (New UX)

Use this article to run an accounting report from the updated Accounting Reports page. The new page uses a search field and accordion menu to help you find a report faster, and groups filters into three panels so you can configure your report more easily.

Step 1: Under Budget Tracking, click Accounting Reports in the left menu.

Step 2: Click the Run Report button in the top right corner.

Step 3: Find the report you want to run. Expand a category in the accordion menu on the left, or enter a keyword in the Search field to look it up by name.

Tip: Search matches on report name, not category, so search using a keyword from the report title.

Step 4: Click the report to select it. The panels on the right will update with the settings and filters available for that report.

Step 5: In the Settings section, review or edit the File Name. GreenSlate fills in a default name based on your project and the report you selected.

Step 6: Expand the Time Range panel to filter the report by Effective Date, Transaction Date, or Period.

Step 7: Expand the Account and Transaction panel to filter by fields such as Account, Transaction Type, GL Transaction #, Vendor, and Currencies.

Note: Select the Exclude Trans. Type checkbox next to the Transaction Type filter to exclude the selected transaction types from the report instead of including them.

Step 8: Expand the Codes panel to filter by the codes enabled for your project, such as Location, Company Code, 1099 Code, and Tax Credit.

Note: Most Codes filters include an Exclude Selection checkbox, which excludes your selections instead of including them, and a Show Inactive checkbox, which adds inactive items to the results.

Step 9: Click Queue Report.

Step 10: Once the report is generated, a pop-up message notifies you that it's queued in the Reports Monitor. Click View Reports Monitor in the top right corner to check its status, or find it in the Accounting Reports grid.

Step 11: Click the desired format (PDF, CSV, or Excel) to view the report.

Note: The PDF opens in a new tab, where you can print or save it. CSV and Excel files download automatically. File types available may vary depending on the report type.
