1. Click Chart of Accounts
First, confirm or add a trial balance account for the bank account by navigating to Chart of Accounts in the left hand menu.
2. For an existing account
Click on the Actions dropdown next to the account and then Edit.
3. Confirm account setup
Confirm the account is active and in the correct category for the type of account you are creating. Generally, CK Checking and BA Bank Accounts types are used. Next, confirm that it has the correct currency and the account Level is Detail. Optionally, you can update the Description field to distinguish it from other bank accounts.
4. Click Add Account
If you need to add an account, click Add Account in the top right corner of the screen.
5. Enter account information
First, enter an account number within the correct Category range. enerally CK Checking and BA Bank Accounts types are used. Next, add a description and select a currency.
6. Click Save
Click Save to add the new account.
7. Click Bank Accounts
Next, navigate to Bank Accounts in the left hand menu.
8. Click Add Account
Then, click Add Account in the top right corner of the screen.
9. Fill out Bank Info section
First, type in Bank Name and then from the drop-down menus, then make selections for Currency, Bank if listed, and Country.
10. Fill out Account Setting section
Next, type in the Bank Code and from the Account Linked To dropdown menu, select the trial balance account you confirmed or added.
11. Fill out Bank Files Configuration section
Enter in Company Name along with Account Number and Routing Number
12. Fill out Check Ranges section
Even if your project will not use checks, a check type must be selected from the Check Stock drop-down as well as a number for Check Copies in order for the bank account to appear in Bill Payments.
13. Enter Bank Address
Now, enter the address and contact information for the bank.
14. Enter Payer Company Information
Then, enter Company Name and the address. This information will appear on AP checks.
15. Click Save
When you're ready, click Save to create your bank account.
